While most may think they are the figment of your imagination, a Remembered Creature is anything but unreal. They haunt a single person, usually driving them insane. They hail from Malebolge, and show it.

Creating a Remembered Creature[]

Remembered Creature is an acquired template that can be applied to any non-undead creature of Small size or larger (hereafter referred to as the base creature). Keep the base creature's statistics, except as noted below:
Size and type: A Remembered Creature's size and type remain the same, but it gains the Incorporeal and Extraplanar subtypes.
Hit dice: Maximize the rolls for the hit dice to find the HP for a Remembered Creature.
Speed: Speed remains unchanged, but a Remembered Creature also gains Fly Speed 30 ft. (good). If the base creature had a fly speed, use whichever is better.
Armor class: A Remembered Creature's natural armor bonus increases by +4
Special Attacks: The base creature gains the following special attacks: Haunt
Special Qualities: The base creature gains spell resistance equal to 10 + the hit dice
Abilities: Increase the base creature's ability as follows: Str -2, Dex +2, Con +2, Wis +2, Int +4, Cha +4.

Organization: Solitary
Challenge Rating: Base creature +2
Treasure: None
Alignment: Always Chaotic Evil
Level Adjustment: None

Special Attacks[]

Haunt[]

A Remembered Creature survives by haunting one creature until it goes insane, whereupon it is killed by the Remembered Creature. Every day, the victim of a Remembered Creature must make a will save, DC 10 + the Remembered Creature's Cha modifier + the number of days being haunted, or go insane. Before this period, the victim will see the creature lurking everywhere, and may fight it numerous times before it manages to be free. When the save is finally failed, the character dies in 24 hours. The only way to free an insane creature is Limited Wish or greater.
