This history of the Raets is unknown and only legends seem to explain their origin. What is known is that they closely resemble sahuagin, but are in fact very different. They hail from the waters around the islands, but somehow have come to be able to live on land as well as underwater.

Game Rules

RAET TRAITS (Ex)

  • +2 Strength, +2 Constitution, -2 Intelligence, -2 Charisma. Raets are not attractive or intelligent creatures but their skills underwater, and on land make up for this.
  • Medium size.
  • Raet base land speed is 30 ft. Raet's also have a swim speed of 30 feet.
  • Special Qualities: Amphibious, darkvision 60 feet, monstrous humanoid traits, aquatic traits.
  • Automatic Languages: Common, Raet. Bonus languages: Elven, Aquan, Sahuagin.
  • Weapon familiarity: Raets treat the Raet Longsword as a martial weapon.
  • +8 racial bonus to swim checks, because of their swim speed.
  • Favored Class: Fighter.
  • Level Adjustment: +0 or +1. In a strictly underwater campaign, Raets have a LA of +0. If they are surface dwellers, they are LA +1; unless they are situated in an environment that makes contact with large bodies of water highly unlikely.
