Atonement in Polaqu, is a varying process and depends on the church. Typically though, it involves some kind of quest or sacrifice to prove ones devotion to ones god. In addition, many churches insist on a considerable tribute, supposedly in order to right the wrongs the paladin may have done - but more often than not it is more symbolic and the donation will be put toward some other kind of good deed (eg. building an orphanage).
